Delete

The following information will assist users in deleting information from within various Horizon modules. Information that is tied to past history should not be deleted even if the program allows it.  Caution should be exercised when deleting some information.

Record Headers

You can delete individual transactions by placing the cursor in the batch number, voucher # or transaction # field and pressing the delete icon.  You will be asked a confirmation question "Delete this record?"  clicking the Yes button will delete the entire voucher, cash receipt entry, adjustment, etc.

Grid or Window Deletions

You can delete lines from within a window or a grid by placing the cursor on a line in the grid and pressing the delete icon.  You will be asked the following confirmation question "Delete this line?" Clicking the Yes button will delete the line in the grid or window.

Be sure the confirmation question says line and not record to make sure you are deleting the correct information and not an entire record.

For Example:

You can delete an entire Journal Entry using the J/E # field and receiving a confirmation of "Delete this record?"  The journal entry and all the lines entered will be deleted.

You can delete one line from a Journal Entry by clicking in the line and clicking the delete key.  After verifying and answering Yes to the "Delete this line?" confirmation only one line of the Journal Entry will be deleted.
